Kindermusik Musicians Year 1, Semester 2
Simply the best way to introduce your child to the written language of music. Kindermusik Musicians (previously Young Child), is the capstone of the Kindermusik program. It is a sequential 4 semester (2 year) program where students learn to read notes from the staff, read rhythms, learn musical terms and learn to play 3 instruments: the glockenspiel (a barred instrument), the dulcimer (a string instrument) and the recorder (a wind instrument). You will be amazed at the effortless way your child will joyfully learn to read and play music in a very age appropriate way while building the foundation for more formal music lessons in the future. When they have completed the 2 year program, they are prepared for success in private music instruction. In year 1 of Kindermusik Musicians, children will use the glockenspiel. In year 2, the dulcimer is presented in the fall semester and then the recorder in the spring semester. You will appreciate how your child’s love of music will be nurtured to insure a life-long enjoyment of music.
Class Schedule
Monday 5:45-6:25 p.m.
Wednesday 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Classes start the week of January 12, 2026. Classes end the week of April 6-10, 2026. There is no class the week of March 30-April 3 (Vigo County Spring Break). Make-up classes will be offered the week of April 13-17. If you have missed a class, you may make it up during this week. If you have not missed a class, then you will get a bonus class!
Cost:
$255 with materials, $230 without materials – already own the glockenspiel, dulcimer, recorder, and carry bag for this curriculum**
**This means that you will use the glockenspiel, dulcimer, recorder, and carry bag from a previous enrollment (i.e., older sibling) and receive only the streamed music, folder, weekly activity pages and games bag.
Save $10 if you register and pay in full by check or cash by 12/31/25, ($245 regular materials / $220 sibling kit)
